Hi! I'm Antonio Centeno. I'm the founder of Real Men Real Style.
Today, gentlemen, I'm going to be addressing the sagging sock issue. Yes. I know this is something that's kept many of you guys up at night.
Over the last couple of months I’ve gotten a few people that have emailed me about this. I have suffered from it myself. So I wanted to give you guys three quick tips on how to fix the sagging sock issue.
So I wanted to give you guys three quick tips on how to fix the sagging sock issue.
3 Tips to Fix Your Sagging Socks
Tip 1: Guys, let's just jump right into this. You probably need to just get rid of those socks and by higher quality socks.
Socks going right down are usually because the elastic has died in the sock. That's going to happen in low quality socks.
Usually they’ve got one or two bands of an elastic being ran through them. Once that is gone, guys, those socks are just going to fall down.
You know what I'm talking about. Those tube socks that you buy 10 for $2. Wash them twice and all of a sudden those things are falling apart.
So look to buy higher quality socks which are going to maintain the elasticity up there and are going to do a better job. It's those small details. That's what you're paying for. Now, I've created an entire video on what goes into higher quality socks. You can go check that one out.

Point 2 is actually to buy the right type of sock. There are different types of socks out there. If you are having the sagging sock issue, you probably have a sock that is about this length.
So it's going to go up. You know how it's probably going to go up eight inches. So it's only going to go halfway up your calf. Instead what you want is a full calf sock.
I've got a pair of boots. Every time I wear those boots I have to wear socks like this. It's funny. They're dress boots so they don’t go but up to like this high.
Maybe it's the way that they were built. Those boots pull down on the sock. So I can wear pretty much any sock with all of my other dress shoes, but when I wear them with these dress boots they're always pulling them down.

Think about it. Because of the shape of your calf, it's like a large man trying to wear a belt versus wearing suspenders. Suspenders are always going to work better because the belt is putting pressure on a point that is, in a sense, sloping down this way. It's the same thing with the socks.
When you wear the longer sock, it covers the full calf. Basically it goes up above the area. It's the largest area that it's overpassed. So it makes sense. Pretty simple.
So the last one I'm going to recommend and I'll share to you guys, I've talked about this before, wearing shirt stays. Those are the elastic bands that connect the bottom of your shirt to the top of your socks.Â
This is a new company that sent me a sample product, KK & Jay. You guys know I've also recommended Sharp & Dapper. They're over in Europe. Sal over at suspenders.com, he's got some great ones as well.
We've used them in the military. I know a lot of those of you that are in law enforcement use them. They do a great job not only of keeping your socks up but keeping your shirt tucked in. It may not be an option for some of you guys want to go.Â
You look at them garter belts. But I find that they solve the problem.
The last one, I'm just going to throw this out there, if you want to go in and actually sew elastic thread into the top of your socks, you can do that as well.
That may be an option for those who, just for some reason, do not want to upgrade your socks. Go in there and just sew on each of your socks individually. You can probably solve the problem that way.
All right, guys. Let me know what you think. I enjoyed making this video and answering your questions. You guys know I've got a great contact form over at Real Men Real Style.
