Esquire Men’s Magazine Video Review – Is it Worth your Money?

When it comes to Bang for your Buck, Esquire Men’s Magazine is the best value you’re going to find Stateside.

Sure, there are better men’s magazines out there. Magazines that don’t have as many ads (which esquire has a lot of), magazines that focus more on menswear (and not half naked women – which I love but distracts from the focus), and magazines that provide better style guidelines and explanation (which prior to 1960 Esquire did very well).

No it’s not perfect – but for less than $1 an issue delivered – Esquire is a great Supplemental Style Look Book.

A red leather jacket - novel, no, but a great casual clothing idea for many of us looking to stand out just a bit more.

Founded in 1932, Esquire Men’s Magazine is a monthly magazine with a circulation of 700K and has been a staple of men’s style since the first great depression.

4 Reasons why I think you should subscribe:

1.  Solid Content – Very rarely do I find something I feel is wrong – yes, they are a bit fashion forward and rarely write content for men outside of the ideal model build – but overall they have quality writers who have been

2.  Great Images – A lot – they spend a lot of money on photo shoots and I find that I take a away at least one new idea (usually more) from each issue.

3.  Price – Great value, less than $1 an issue.

4.  It is consistent – Every month esquire shows up in my mailbox.  I like having a physical magazine to read when I have a few minutes here or there.

Bonus – If you’re looking for style ideas that are a bit different, consider subscribing to International Editions.  Although still heavy with American influence, you’ll find they publish content for Mexico, Russia, Spain, Thailand, and about 15 other countries.

A bit late, but I hope you'll see this post anyway, Antonio.

What magazines do you rate higher than Esquire? I live in Europe, and would sadly pay a lot more than $1, so I can just as well buy something else. Even though I love beautiful women, I'd much prefer better writing about menswear and better style guides.

Thank you for a really nice site!

jeccou You can actually get Esquire in Europe -- they have an edition for a number of European countries -- but if you're looking for something more purely male-focused you could try GQ. There's lots on the web, of course; those are just the largest and most iconic men's culture-and-fashion magazines still in print circulation these days.

Sadly, as a man of good moral standing I will never purchase Esquire. They constantly push grave moral evils in their pages, but unlike Antonio, I don't want pictures of half-naked tarts tempting me to lust, and anyone who claims to be Christian should not want that either. I will come to blogs like this or a few others that are tasteful and not pushing non-stop sex with every page an image. While Antonio is spot on frequently here, I cannot and will not support filth as this.

okiepapist Thanks for the comment and your opinion. I can't tell if you're calling me out on something, but in any case I won't debate religion/politics/or Texas Longhorn Football on my style blog.

Just wondering...why Esquire over GQ?

GQ was too fashion forward for my tastes - although the UK edition is pretty nice but not as affordable.

Nice review. I certainly agree that they do like to push some trends. Not as bad as GQ, but that's another story. I think Esquire can be a little arrogant about style, but I guess they have earned the right to be. Their blog is more trendy than the magazine, but they're putting out a lot of content each day. Overall I agree with you for the price, you can't do better for a style magazine. I made the mistake of ordering Men's Vouge a few years ago and it turned out to be mostly about politics and not very good even at that. What a shame.

Thanks Matt - appreciate the personal story. In any case for the price of the magazines (when you subscribe) is so low even if you gain one bit of knowledge it's been worth the tiny cost.
